Dr. Kimberly Richards
Dr. Kimberly Richards knows what it takes to be a champion: She was on the Mother McAuley High School State Champion Volleyball team in 2004-2005 AND captained the Lewis University to three Conference Championships!
She brings that same passion, work ethic, energy, and commitment to excellence to our patients!
Dr. Richards grew up in Evergreen Park, graduated from Mother McAuley High School and Lewis University and completed her Optometric studies at the Illinois College of Optometry in May, 2015 after she had interned in Denver CO and in Lexington KY in the areas of pediatrics and ocular disease.
From a young age, Dr. Richards loved eyes, She knew that optometry was the career for her when she learned that, through eye exams, she would not only be able to help people see, but also identify potential health risk factors and, in extreme cases, save lives.
She excels at creating a fun atmosphere for kids to enjoy their eye health exams and is passionate about building lifelong relationships with patients. One of the reasons she’s excited about being part of the Gardner Eye Care Family is that many of our patients have been with us their whole life—20, 30, 40, 50 years!
Dr. Richards married Tom Garvey, her college sweetheart in July, 2015. The two had played volleyball at Lewis University.
In her free time, Dr. Richards enjoys the creative outlets of photography, ceramics, fashion, art museums, and theater, especially musicals. She has volunteered with Catholic Charities and One Sight and still plays volleyball when she can! Her favorite pastime, however, is hanging out with her family and friends…just being together!
We’re proud that we’ve been taking exceptionally great care of our patients since 1938! And we’re proud to welcome Dr. Richards to Gardner Eye Care—Your Vision Source in Hickory Hills, Homer Glen, and Naperville.
